Cardiovascular health is near and dear to my heart. On a personal level, I was thrust into the world of cardiovascular health when my own son was born with several serious heart defects, of which no child had survived past 3 days. To this day, every time a cardiologist examines him, he marvels that he is even alive. He'll be 30 this summer. They're even more surprised when they discover that I have managed him his whole life without medications, and he lives a normal, healthy life.
I recognize there is a definite need for medical intervention. He has undergone 3 open heart surgeries, of which we are grateful. After 3 months of post-op medications, we would wean him off to healthier support. His cardiologist and I had a great relationship: he'd tell me what he wanted him on meds for, and I'd duplicate it with herbs and nutrition. He was happy as long as I'd accomplish what he wanted. I always did. As a result, he has lived a healthy life, medication free!
Cardiovascular disease is predominantly a nutritional disease. Therefore, good nutrition is essential in restoring cardiovascular health. Acupuncture is also effective in treating many cardiovascular diseases.
For instance, blood pressure. Using specific point combinations, acupuncture has been shown to be effective in lowering blood pressure. In each visit, it can lower it as much as 20 points, however, it takes a succession of visits for it to hold. But treating cardiovascular disease takes more than acupuncture. It takes diagnostic skills that go beyond the EKG or stethoscope.
For example, if you've been diagnosed with high cholesterol or high blood pressure, arrhythmia or weakened valves, what is the cause for it? Did your body just decide one day it had nothing better to do than to create havoc? If your cholesterol is high, why? Cholesterol amongst other substances, is a healing serum, designed to heal damaged tissue. It is needed to make hormones. It is used to provide vascular strength, and many, many other things. So if cholesterol is elevated, there is a reason for it. Uncover the reason, handle it, and the cholesterol drops on its own, without the need for intervention.
Electrical nodes don't just go haywire and fire off aberrantly for no reason. If they were perfectly functioning at birth, why don't they function now? What is the body missing that is needed for proper electrical conduction of the heart? The body is smart, but it can't do something with nothing. What's missing?
With good nutritional care and acupuncture, there is a lot we can achieve in supporting better cardiovascular health.
When I first came to see Dr. Carling I was experiencing severe vertigo sometimes lasting for hours and accompanied by severe vomiting. I had just had a heart attack. I had high blood pressure and high cholesterol. I was also diagnosed with diabetes.
Everything is so much better now! I noticed a significant improvement in my vertigo within a couple of treatments and it has continued to improve over the course of my treatments. My heart is so much stronger and my blood pressure and cholesterol are now normal. Most exciting of all, I had my annual physical last Thursday and my medical doctor declared me “officially non-diabetic”! - Inga
